Capacity Development (CapDev) Program Preparatory Meeting
On February 18, 2022, members of the DILG Region III team led by Regional Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando, visited Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) at Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija to participate in the Capacity Development Program Preparatory meeting.
The objective of the activity was to have exploratory talks with NEUST for possible collaborations in the implementation of programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities of local government units (LGUs) in Central Luzon. Likewise, it aimed to match the areas of expertise of NEUST with the current capacity development needs of the LGUs in the region. Key ideas discussed and considered during the meeting proper include the establishment of a school of good local governance, the implementation of a barangay level disaster alert system, and the usage of a Quality Assurance (QA) tool for the monitoring of infrastructure projects. These are all geared in pursuit of continual improvement in the service delivery to the clientele.
The DILG Region III office remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening its Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) and the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Committee (MSAC) in order to have a holistic approach in crafting, developing, and implementing the projects, programs, and activities needed by the LGUs of Central Luzon.
